Online therapy for adults in New York
Therapy for the relationships that matter most, including the relationship you have with yourself.
I'm Tiffany Cardona, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing online therapy to individuals, couples, and families throughout New York.
I believe many of the struggles we experience make more sense when we look at them in the context of our relationships, experiences, and the patterns we've developed along the way. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, a life transition, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a place to slow things down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and begin creating meaningful change.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start exactly where you are.

About Me
A little about me and how I approach therapy.
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
My style is warm, relational, compassionate, and engaged. I'm not a therapist who simply sits back and nods while you do all of the work. I'll be present in the conversation with you, asking thoughtful questions, helping you recognize patterns, offering another perspective when it may be helpful, and sometimes gently challenging you when I believe there is something important worth exploring.
I'm especially interested in the relationships and experiences that have shaped you. Sometimes the patterns showing up in our lives today began long before we realized they were patterns at all. Understanding them isn't about blaming the past. It's about developing greater awareness and creating more choice in how you move forward.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I naturally think systemically. Whether I'm working with an individual, a couple, or a family, I'm interested not only in what is happening, but in the relationships, experiences, and patterns surrounding it.
Most importantly, I want therapy to feel human. You are more than a diagnosis or a list of symptoms, and our work together should reflect that.

Services
Ways to work together.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy doesn't mean we only focus on you in isolation.
Many of the things that bring people to therapy, anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, dating patterns, family stress, or feeling stuck, are connected to how we understand ourselves and relate to the people around us.
Together, we can become curious about those patterns, where they may have come from, what continues to keep them in place, and what you would like to do differently moving forward.
- Anxiety and emotional regulation
- Dating and relationship patterns
- Life transitions
- Women's issues
Couples Therapy
Relationships can become painful when two people care deeply about one another but keep finding themselves caught in the same cycle.
Couples therapy creates space to slow those patterns down and understand what is happening underneath the arguments, distance, resentment, or disconnection.
My goal isn't to decide who is right or wrong. It's to help both partners better understand themselves and one another, communicate more effectively, rebuild emotional connection, and create healthier ways of navigating conflict together.
- Communication difficulties
- Relationship stress and conflict
- Emotional disconnection
- Rebuilding trust and closeness
Family Therapy
Families are systems, which means that when one relationship or part of the family is struggling, everyone can feel the impact.
Family therapy offers a space to understand patterns that may have developed over time, improve communication, navigate transitions, and help family members begin hearing one another differently.
The goal isn't to identify one person as "the problem." Instead, we look together at the relationships and patterns within the family and work toward healthier connection.
- Family conflict and dynamics
- Communication across generations
- Life transitions affecting the family
- Rebuilding connection

Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy
I welcome autistic and neurodivergent adults into my practice. My approach is grounded in curiosity and respect for the whole person rather than approaching neurodivergence as something that needs to be "fixed." Therapy may include exploring relationships, identity, communication, emotional experiences, sensory needs, life transitions, or simply having a space where you don't have to work so hard to be understood.
Therapeutic Approach
How therapy with me feels.
My work is grounded primarily in systemic and relational therapy. I'm interested in how relationships, family experiences, attachment, and patterns across generations can shape the way we understand ourselves and connect with others.
Bowen Family Systems is an important influence in the way I conceptualize relationships and recurring patterns. I also integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-focused approaches, and trauma-informed care depending on the person or relationship in front of me.
I don't believe therapy should feel like applying the same formula to every person.
We'll pay attention to what brought you into therapy, but we'll also remain curious about what's underneath it. Sometimes meaningful change begins when we understand not only what we're doing, but why a particular pattern made sense in the first place.
Sessions with me are conversational and collaborative. There may be laughter. There may be difficult moments. There may be questions that stay with you after the session ends.
Through all of it, my goal is to create a relationship where you can be honest, curious, challenged when appropriate, and supported as you work toward meaningful change.
How Therapy Begins
Getting started is simple.
- 01
Let's Connect
You can reach out or schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly talk about what you're looking for, answer questions, and see whether I may be the right therapist for you.
- 02
Our First Sessions
Our first few conversations are about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. You don't need to arrive with the perfect explanation or know exactly what your goals are. We'll figure that out together.
- 03
The Work Begins
From there, we'll develop a direction for therapy that reflects your needs, relationships, goals, and life, not a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.
